Holiday with Harry & David

Selecting the perfect holiday gift can be difficult.  Thankfully, Harry & David has made the challenge a bit more bearable.  Their gourmet gift baskets truly are a gorgeous presentation.  They have so many varieties to choose from, from handpicked fruits to decadent treats to savory meats and cheeses and WINE… can’t forget about the wine.  Not only do these baskets make the perfect gift, but they can also help to inspire some great holiday dishes.

When Harry & David sent us a box of their Royal Riviera Pears, we were definitely inspired to use them in our holiday menu planning.  Since we absolutely love puff pastry around the holidays, we decided to make a pear and goat cheese tart.  I mean, juicy pears, cheese, AND puff pastry… what more could you want in a holiday appetizer?

Preparing the tart was super simple.  We always have so much fun in the kitchen.  And with the Christmas music blaring and the Harry & David wine flowing, it was the perfect way to spend a snowy afternoon.

To finish the tart off, we topped it off with some festive rosemary sprigs, some fresh cranberries, and a drizzle of honey.  The finished product made the perfect presentation at our Secret Santa party.
