Finally getting around to blogging about one of our favorite stops in Boston. Tiger Mama is located in the Fenway section of Boston, and it literally took us on a trip through Southeast Asia. The aesthetics of this place left us totally speechless. This restaurant is everything from funky to tropical, and we couldn’t have asked for more.
Walking in, we were in awe of the decor. The giant mosaic elephant was enough to make us feel as though we had been transported to Thailand. The rest of the restaurant was dripping in lush greenery, with tropical/tiki accents. It was as though we had been placed smack dab in the middle of a tropical rainforest.
Now, obviously that tropical feel put us in the mood for a fruity libation. The cocktail menu definitely complimented the overall style of the restaurant. With the pineapple being the international symbol of hospitality (as told by our amazing server, Patrick), we opted for a cocktail out of a super cute copper pineapple. The bartender mixed us up something special, a concoction of Absolute Elyx, Cocchi Americano, Velvet Falernum, All Spice Dram, and Pineapple juice–Results- DELICIOUS!
We took our time savoring our tropical pineapple mixture and really worked up an appetite. The menu was bold and inspiring and we were tempted to try one of everything. In the end, we opted for the coconut sticky rice, the seasonal greens, and the Bun Cha Hanoi. The coconut rice was AH-MA-ZING!!! We loved that it was served in a can– it was super cute. The seasonal greens were garlicky, fresh, and delicious. The Bun Cha Hanoi was a total crowd pleaser. These build your own lettuce wraps were super crispy and flavorful.
In a nut shell, Tiffani Faison, Top Chef alum totally nailed it! The only downfall is the 284 miles that separate us from dining here whenever we want.
